Occult Renal Cell Carcinoma of Eosinophilic Morphology Detected within Renal Angiomyolipoma Mass in a Patient with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex

چکیده
The kidney is affected in about 80–85% of tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) patients. Renal manifestations in TSC patients include an increased incidence of epithelial cysts and tumors, such as multiple renal angiomyolipomas (AMLs), renal cell carcinoma (RCC), and oncocytoma.[1,2] The coexistence of RCC and renal AML within same tumor masses, namely collision tumor, is very rare, and about six cases have been reported.[3] Here, we present a case of a young male with TSC and multiple AMLs, containing RCC with eosinophilic morphology.

However, coexistence of these tumors in the same patient is a rare condition. synchronous occurrence of renal cell carcinoma and angiomyolipoma is more commonly seen in patients with tuberous sclerosis. case report: A 76-years-old female was admitted to urology clinic with a complaint of flank pain. she had p...

UNLABELLED BACKGROUND The autosomal dominant tumor syndrome tuberous sclerosis complex is caused by the mutated TSC1 gene, hamartin, and the TSC2 gene, tuberin. Patients with this complex develop typical cutaneus symptoms such as peau chagrin or angiofibromas of the skin as well as other lesions such as astrocytomas in the brain and lymphangioleiomyomatosis in the lung. Only a few tuberous s...
متن کاملComposite renal cell carcinoma and angiomyolipoma in a patient with Tuberous sclerosis: A diagnostic dilemma.
Tuberous sclerosis (TS) is an autosomal dominant disorder associated with various renal pathologies, including angiomyolipoma (AML). Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with concomitant AML is rare. We report a case of composite RCC and AML in a young male with TS. This 25-year-old male presented with an abdominal mass. The abdominal computed tomography scan revealed RCC in the left kidney and AML in ri...
